A selection of Rudd engineer’s wagons.

ZBA Rudd

INTRODUCED IN THE late 1980s, around 2,500 Clam, Rudd and Tope engineer’s wagons were rebuilt for BR by Marcroft Engineering and CC Crump using redundant HTV 21-ton mineral hoppers.

Hornby will be producing all three of the types as part of its 2008 programme, which are due in the shops over the next month or so. With this in mind, here is a relatively recent selection of the ZBA ‘Rudd’ version, culled from 2003-04. Examples of the other two types will follow in due course.
