A mish-mash of Tope engineer’s wagons.
FOLLOWING THE SELECTION of ZBA ‘Rudd’ wagons posted the other day, here is an earlier batch of shots of their sister ZCV ‘Tope’ engineer’s vehicles. These kept their original - albeit rebodied in the 1970s - bodywork, which was reduced in height by a few inches.
Of interest is the olive green liveried LDB970850, one of six ‘Topes’ converted for the Electrification Engineer. It’s unclear just how much use these actually got, but they make for some nice variation.

As these pictures date from my return to the hobby in the mid-1990s, they aren’t all of the best quality! I also took the opportunity to upgrade the ‘Tope’ shots that were already on the site, see here.

Next to DB 970187 is what appears to be a TOPE rebuild of a Hucks bolted hopper - the stanchion you can see on the end is open channel and not solid. Do you have a picture of that wagon, please?

Well spotted. Unfortunately those were in the days pre-digital when I only photographed two or three wagons in every rake. Nowadays I also have a much better eye for stuff I SHOULD be recording!
I’ll have another look, but I would guess that the answer is unfortunately no…
