Remember the last years of Class 101 operation in Scotland?
Painted in its unique Strathclyde PTE blue livery, Class 101 DMU No. 101602 (made up of DMBS 53253 and DTSL 53170) splutters out of Glasgow Central station with a service to Whifflet. The date was September 9th, 1999 and the Met-Camm diesel multiple unit was transferred to the North West a few months later. Withdrawn in 2003, it keeps this paint job in preservation at the Midland Railway-Butterley.
ScotRail/Strathclyde PTE Class 101 DMU formed of DMBS No. 51435 and DTSL No. 53177 (set No. 101690) arrives at Glasgow Central station, Scotland, on September 17th, 1999, with a service from Barrhead. The two-car Met-Camm carries both the classic SPTE angled ‘map’ logo and the more recent ’swoosh’ branding.
