Bi-current French electric power at Bordeaux.
THE RACKED BACK cab front can only mean one thing, we’re in France… Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer BB2220 bi-current electric No. 522307 La Teil hums out of Gare St Jean, Bordeaux, on January 30th, 2003, with a Corail train south. Similar to the BB7200 1,500V dc and BB15000 25kV ac Class machines, these can run off both overhead electrification power supplies. In an amusing Gallic twist, the 22200 class number is the sum of 7200 and 15000! Who says the French don’t have a sense of humour.
