East St Louis’ colourful terminal railroad.
OVER FORTY YEARS old and still looking superb, Terminal Railroad of Association SW1200 No. TRRA 1239 rests at the RR’s Venice Yard, Illinois, servicing facility on May 29th, 2006. The bright red scheme with white trimmings has been amended with new FRA approved Scotchlite yellow sill striping.
The last true EMD Switcher design, the 1,500hp SW1500, is illustrated here in the form of a trio of Terminal Railroad of Association machines - Nos. TRRA 1505, TRRA 1508 & TRRA 1513 - pictured buzzing light engine past the photographer at Valley Junction Interlocking, East St Louis, Illinois, on May 29th, 2006.
