Three shots from a day out in the Fens.
PICTURED AT ELY, Cambridgeshire, First GB Railfreight Class 66/7 No. 66724 Drax Power Station throbs through the station with the 4L78 11.43 Selby (Potter Group)-Felixstowe intermodal on June 25th, 2009.
East Midlands Trains Class 158 two-car DMU No. 158780 zips through Whittlesea, Cambridgeshire, with the 17.54 Norwich-Nottingham EMT passenger on June 25th, 2009.
The flatlands of the Fens are perfect for wind turbines and they are springing up all over the region. Also sending out a strong green message is Freightliner’s No. 66536, which is pounding the track at Funthams Lane level crossing, Kings Dyke, on June 25th, 2006, with a well loaded 4L85 08.37 Leeds to Felixstowe container service. The Class 66/5 is showing its plain side to the photographer - that with the centre door makes for a much more interesting picture!
