Class 508 units in Kent and Merseyside.
GO TIGER! TIGER-stripe Class 508 EMU No. 508139 sprints along the short electrified section from Hooton South Junction to Ellesmere Port on April 23rd, 2005, with a Merseyrail service from the Liverpool circle. The train has just departed Hooton station itself on The Wirral, Cheshire.
Connex Southeastern was deservedly booted off the South Eastern franchise in November 2003, however Class 508 EMU No. 508207 was still wearing the livery of the French operator when it was recorded passing the attractive lattice semaphore signals at Aylesford, Kent, whilst working a Paddock Wood to Strood (Route 61 service) on June 12th, 2004. These 750V dc third-rail electric multiple units have been retired from these duties - despite a recent refurbishment - and are currently awaiting a move to a new owner.
