A pair of the cute little ED75s, still hanging around in Northern Japan.
CONTAINER SERVICES ARE by far the main employment for the remaining JR Freight (JRF) ED75-1000 Bo-Bo 20kV ac electric locomotives based out of Sendai depot in Northern Japan. On July 20th, 2009, No. 1010 powers a southbound intermodal through the bleak surroundings of Rikuzen-Sanno station, in Miyagi Prefecture (just north of Sendai itself).

JR Freight (JRF) ED75-1000 Bo-Bo electric locomotive No. 1016 was photographed from a passing train ‘on shed’ on Sendai depot, Miyagi Prefecture, on July 20th, 2009. These 14.3-metre long machines work off the single-phase 20kV ac supply that dominates in this part of Japan.
