BORN IN 1972 to a working class background, I quickly made my mark on society. Although once voted the student least likely to string two words together as a coherent sentence, I now work for a publishing company as the Assistant Editor of the national monthly newsstand magazine RAIL EXPRESS. If my high school English teacher was dead, the rotational energy of her spinning body could power a small city.

A picture of me

The job takes in four of my loves in life: railways, writing (still a work in progress), model making and photography.

Some people collect stamps, others paintings, I collect hobbies. My major interests are, and have always been, music (mainly general but majoring in The Fall and punk/post rock/shoegazing/noise) and travelling, and I also have a bit of a taste for anime/manga (see here). Past obsessions have included long distance cycling, walking and playing the guitar (a hobby which has been ‘on the shelf’ for far too long).

I currently live in Northamptonshire but one day hope to own it.

Cheers, Gareth
