THE OPPOSITE VIEW to this picture taken at Dumesnil Street crossing in Louisville, Kentucky, show the rear end of a Norfolk Southern train (led by D9-40CWs NS 8938 & NS 9629) heading south. The car with the markers is Exxon Chemicals America Union Tank Car-built 27,290gal tank car ECUX 361071. The hazmat placard , which displays 1268, is for petroleum distillates.

Some shots of Athearn’s new 8K ‘beer can’ tank car.

RELEASED A FEW months back, I’ve finally received my first Athearn ‘HO’ Scale 8,000gal tank car, which are nicknamed ‘beer cans’ for obvious reasons. These are a touch out of place for my New England 2002 location/time frame, but I bought one anyway. Here are a few pictures.

First WotW update of 2009.

JUST A QUICKIE set of new images; twelve ‘Seacow’ and ‘Sealion’ 40-tonne ballast hoppers all recorded in 2004. Both rivetted and welded construction builds are included, just the thing for those with Bachmann and Hornby models that they are looking to detail and weather!
