RELEASED A FEW months back, I’ve finally received my first Athearn ‘HO’ Scale 8,000gal tank car, which are nicknamed ‘beer cans’ for obvious reasons. These are a touch out of place for my New England 2002 location/time frame, but I bought one anyway. Here are a few pictures.

Finally, Atlas’ MP15DC has been produced in Norfolk Southern black.

IT HAS BEEN a long wait - almost exactly three years - but it’s nice to actually have Atlas’ excellent MP15DC in my hands wearing the black dip of eastern thoroughbred Norfolk Southern. It’s only taken the New Jersey outfit four runs of the multi-purpose EMD to get around to producing this big Class 1’s fleet in HO!

Intermountain’s new ‘early’ Hyundai 53-footer is here.

IF YOU’RE INTO modelling modern US intermodal operations you can never have enough 53ft domestic containers. Intermountain has been a strong supporter of this side of the hobby and after a maddening delay (but not as frustrating as the wait for its Gunderson Maxi-IV wells!), its very useful early-style Hyundai containers are now available, following hot on the heels of the ‘late’ version released a couple of months back.

Working out who makes what for who in China.
ONE OF THE subjects that is always cropping up on forums and e-mail groups, at least on the British and North American lists that have been a member of, is the thorny subject of Chinese model production. More specifically, customers want to know specifically which of the various ready-to-run manufacturers use which East Asian factories.
